We have been an exam centre for Rockschool since 2018 so I thought I would do a blog post answering some regular questions we get asked and giving a bit of general advice and information.
Rock School book us roughly 2-3 times a quarter, as soon as we have the dates booked in we advertise them on our Education and Exams page. If you are booking an exam and nothing has appeared on our page, please just register your interest that you would like your exam in Leicester (or even at Stayfree if they allow you to be that specific) and Rockschool will then contact you with the dates available once they have booked them in with us.
We have plenty of parking at Stayfree, but I recommend using Google to search for directions to ‘Stayfree Music’ rather than entering our post code into a SatNav. SatNavs can send you down the wrong street. If you are having difficulty finding us please give us a call on 0116 2230303 and we can guide you in.
Every candidate has the opportunity to have a warm up before the exam. This usually happens in the Orange Room. Please make sure you arrive early enough for this to happen – 20 – 25 minutes early is great.
If for some reason you are running late, please give us a call and let us know. The Exams run to a tight schedule, but occasionally there are gaps so it may be possible at the examiners discretion to still squeeze you in if we have enough notice. No promises but we do our best 🙂
